A great team of 4 musicians who have been working together since the last 20 years, and finally : the album!
A nice selection of jazz songs in many different styles : swing, bebop, bossa nova, samba and blues. Wellknown, but also less known ‘standards’ are interpreted in a moving and refreshing way. Plus an original approach of John Lennon's masterpiece ‘Imagine’
Hilde Vanhove has a warm voice, and an uncomplicated and personal singing style, that is unmistakeable ‘jazz’.
Hilde was elected as ‘Best Belgian female jazz singer of 1999’ by the listeners poll of VRT3 (the Flemish Radio and Television), and since then she only got better!
Johan Clement is known for playing in a very subtle and intelligent way, and also for his work with topmusicians such as Toots Thielemans, Deborah Brown, Johnny Griffin and Clark Terry.
In Belgium, Johan was since 30 years also the pianoplayer with the ‘New Look Trio’, with Roger Vanhaverbeke (acoustic bass) and Freddie Rottier (drums).
From 1995 on, Luc Vanden Bosch becomes the drummer in this trio. He is known from playing with a.o. the BRT Jazz Orchestra, Vaya Con Dios, Phil ABraham Quartet, Olla Vogala and Ronny Verbiest.
From 2012 on, Bart De Nolf is the new bass player, and the trio changes its name to ‘Trio Johan Clement’.
Bart toured around the world with Toots Thielemans, across Europe with bluesmusician Roland Vancampenhout, he accompanied the Laïs-ladies, and he feels very good playing different styles of music.

VANHOVE presented
her album "Insense" in october 2003.
For these recordings she put together an ensemble of renowned names
from the Belgian and international jazz-scene.
Bassplayer
Hein Van de Geyn (Holland) was awarded in 1998 with a "Bird Award"
or the North Sea Jazz Festival.
In the same year he was also elected "best European double-bassplayer"
in the jazzpoll of RTBF and VRT radio.
He played with, among others, Toots Thielemans, Philip Catherine, Chet
Baker, Joe Lovano, Hank Jones, Pichel Petrucciani, Fred Hersh, Dee Dee
Bridgewater and many others.
Michel
Herr (Belgium), besides a complete and particularly gifted pianoplayer,
also an appreciated arranger, entered the jazz scene in the seventies,
and is busier then ever, composing (also for movies), arranging and
playing with his international quintet and many other bands.In
the "98 Belgian (French speaking) critics poll, he entered the
Hall of fame for his carreer achievements, and he was elected Best Belgian
composer and best Belgian arranger.
Drummer
of the band is the legendary Billy Hart (USA), whose discography reads
like a summary of the evolution jazz went through the last 40 years.
He has played with a considerable number of the "jazzgreats"
, including Shirley Horn, Herbie Hancock, Mc Coy Tyner, Stan Getz and
Miles Davis. Today he still travels around the world indefatigably and
continues to record and play concerts with his own band and as a sideman
with several ensembles.
Bert
Joris (Belgium), guestplayer on 4 tunes, is a wellknown composer, trumpet-
and fluegelhornplayer and bandleader.
He started in the fomer BRT-fazzorchestra, and is active in several
great bands, a.o. the Philippe Catherine Quartet, the Michel Herr European
Quintet and the Brussels Jazz Orchestra. Since 1987, he also teaches
at het Swiss Jazz School in Bern.
